Suspect hides in manhole to evade arrest

The man was handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS.

A MAN involved in a business break-in was nabbed early this morning on North Coast Road. The suspect was hiding in a manhole to evade arrest. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred at about 6am on Sunday morning.

“We were alerted to a break-in at a business premises on Chris Hani Road (North Coast Road). When reaction officers arrived on scene the suspect was still on the premises. With the assistance of another security company, an extensive search was conducted and a male suspect was found hiding in a manhole,” he said.

Van Reenen added the man was handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation.
