Four injured after Somerset Park wall collapse

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collapse.

FOUR construction workers have been injured after a wall, they were working on collapsed on top of them on Cheddar Close. The incident occurred just after 2pm. Netcare 911 rescue personnel and Marshall Security are also on scene.

The men were moderately injured after retaining wall they were working on collapsed. They were entrapped in the soil and paramedics had to carefully extricate the men. They are currently being transported to local hospitals.

At this point it is unclear what caused the collapse.

In August last year two construction workers were injured after a trench they were digging collapsed at an uMhlanga residential complex.
