Car goes up in flames in uMhlanga

No one was injured in the blaze which was quickly extinguished.

A WOMAN is lucky to have escaped injury after her vehicle went up in flames on Homeford Drive in uMhlanga this morning. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the road had to be closed off to allow firefighters to put out the blaze.

“It’s believed an electrical fault led to the vehicle catching alight. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident, the driver managed to get out of the vehicle in time. Firefighters were able to put out the blaze within 20 minutes, however the vehicle was completely gutted. The road was temporarily closed while firefighters battled the blaze,” he said.
