One killed on N2 near King Shaka Airport

The accident occurred at about 5.30pm.

ONE person has been killed after a bakkie overturned on the N2 (south) near King Shaka Aiport on Friday afternoon. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Athlenda Mathe, it’s unclear what caused the accident. It’s believed the bakkie overturned on the freeway just at about 5.30pm on Friday afternoon.

“When paramedics arrived on scene, they found two men had been injured. One of the men was resuscitated on scene but sadly succumbed to his injuries. He was declared dead on scene.

“The other man sustained moderate injuries, he was stabilised on scene and thereafter transported to a nearby hospital. The exact detail as to what led to the accident will form part of a SAPS investigation and comment,” she said.
