Man hijacked at gun-point in eMdloti

The alleged hijacking occurred on North Beach Road.

A MAN was allegedly hijacked on North Beach Road in eMdloti on Saturday. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 4pm.

“He parked opposite the tidal pools and went for an afternoon swim. When he came back and began to unlock his car, the suspect pointed a gun at his back and demanded his valuables. The suspect took the man’s wallet and drove off with his white Ford bantam,” he said.

According to a crime survey released last week, hijackings are the most reported crime in South Africa.
