One arrested after La Lucia bakkie theft

The vehicle was recovered about 106 kilometres away.

A MAN has been arrested after a vehicle, which was stolen in La Lucia on Thursday afternoon was recovered near Stanger by police. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the vehicle was recovered about 106 kilometres away.

“The vehicle was taken about midday on Thursday and recovered around 4pm. A signal was picked up on the N2 and Marshall Security and police gave chase. The vehicle was eventually pulled over on the N2, near Stanger. A suspect was taken into custody by the SAPS. The vehicle’s plates had been changed,” he said.

Last month, the Durban North SAPS confirmed 32 vehicles had been stolen in the area.
