WATCH: Dwarf mongoose steps up to black mamba

Pipsqueak mongoose takes on Africa's deadliest snake.

A VIDEO of a dwarf mongoose facing up to a black mamba in Timbavati Nature Reserve has gone viral. The video proves, when it comes to the animal kingdom, size does not count. The plucky mongoose repeatedly goads one of Africa’s deadliest snakes showing the serpent who is in charge.

It is not unusual for a mongoose to tackle a foe as large as this one is a bold move.

People have suggested the mamba may have gotten too close to the mongoose’s burrow. Mongooses are known to fiercely defend their turf.
