Armed men storm Durban North home

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as other items.

A GANG of armed men broke into a Soofie Saheb Drive home on Wednesday afternoon accosting the homeowner, her domestic worker and gardener. The incident occurred shortly after 1.30pm.

According to police, suspects broke a lock on a pedestrian gate before derailing the main gate. They then kicked in the front door and ordered the gardener to go inside. The suspects who were armed with handguns covered the trio’s heads with blankets and marched them into a bedroom. They opened a safe and took an undisclosed amount of cash, jewellery and a 9mm firearm. The suspects also stole a cell phone and flat screen TV.

According to Craig Adendorff of Sun Cell Watch, the suspects were spotted fleeing the premises in a grey Mercedes Benz.

A case of robbery has been opened at the Durban North SAPS.
