According to reports, the M13 going towards Durban has been closed.

TRAFFIC coming into Durban has been severely affected after a shootout on the M13. The Durban-bound carriageway has been closed to traffic at St John’s Avenue.

This after an armed gang, believed to be behind a cash-in-transit robbery in Hillcrest, were involved in a shootout.

Three suspects were shot dead while a fourth was seriously injured. Traffic is also affecting motorists travelling from Durban towards Pinetown.

The incident comes weeks after a shootout on the N2, near Queen Nandi Drive which led to the busy freeway’s closure.
