Security guard robbed of firearm in uMhlanga

Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.

DURBAN North SAPS are looking for two men believed to be behind the robbery of a security guard on Nokwe Avenue in uMhlanga on Wednesday evening. According to police, the guard was handcuffed by the suspects who were armed.

A source at the station said the suspects were driving a white bakkie with a canopy.

“One of the men armed with a pistol levelled it at the security guard and his accomplice handcuffed the guard to the desk. The incident occurred at about 11pm. The suspects removed the security guard’s pistol and then fled the scene. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident,” the source said.

He added investigations were ongoing and no arrests had been made.
