Severe storm and gale force wind warning issued
The south-westerly wind is expected along the coast between Port St Johns and Durban from this afternoon, spreading northwards along the remainder of the KZN coast by evening.
THE South African Weather Service has warned of gale force winds and severe thunderstorms which are set for this afternoon. While the warning has been issued for the entire province, gale force winds have been highlighted for the coast and are expected to reach speeds of up to 64km/h.
The south-westerly wind is expected along the coast between Port St Johns and Durban from this afternoon, spreading northwards along the remainder of the KZN coast by evening.
“Severe thunderstorms have been observed and forecast over southern KZN (around uMkomaas,Kokstad areas) moving slowly towards the north-east,” the service said.
