SEVERAL roads will be affected on Sunday (4 March) as road closures will be in place for the MiWay Durban Ultra Triathlon. Road closures on the M4 (north) will be in place from 5am until 2pm.
Racing starts at 7am with the sprint triathletes heading off from the Bike and Bean precinct on the Beachfront Promenade area, with the Ultra starting around 7:30 from the Pier just South of Suncoast Casino.
Metro police officers will be in attendance to assist with traffic.
What routes will be affected
1. M4 north bound from Sandile Thusi (Argyle Road) to eMdloti Bridge inclusive of all on ramps to the M4 will be closed until 2pm.
2. Masabalala Yengwa Avenue (NMR) from Isaiah Ntshangase Road to Battery Beach Road will be affected and the left lane will be reserved for cyclists.
3. The M41 [east] will be open as well as the M4 [south] from the M41 allowing motorists to enter the City.
4. uMhlanga residents can access the M4 [south] from Ridge Road and Melkhout Road
5. Motorists coming from La Mercy /Westbrook will be diverted off the M4 at the M27 where they can take the N2 to Durban.
