Snow expected in the Drakensberg

The higher peaks are currently predicted to get between 10 and 20cm of snow at this stage according to Snow Report SA.

SNOW is expected to fall on the Drakensberg on Friday night. That’s according to Snow Report SA’s Facebook.

“Snow is expected on the Drakensberg on Friday night and maybe some on Saturday too. While heavy rain is expected at lower altitudes in the Southern and Central Drakensberg, snow is possible on the extreme high peaks like Thabana Ntlenyana (15km inland from Sani Pass), Mafadi, Njesuthi, Popple Peak, Champagne Castle, and Giants Castle.

“The higher peaks are currently predicted to get between 10 and 20cm of snow at this stage, while the lower peaks could just get a dusting,” they said on Facebook.
