Man drowns in pool in uMhlanga

The 33-year-old was found unconscious by a co-worker who pulled him out of the pool.

A MAN drowned at an uMhlanga holiday apartment on Saturday evening. According to Shawn Herbst, of Netcare 911, paramedics responded to the apartment on Lagoon Driven at about 10.55pm.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a 33-year-old male was with co-workers at the time who were all staying at the resort as part of a team building event had drowned in the resorts pool.

“He was found unconscious by a co-worker who pulled him out the water, when paramedics arrived CPR was initiated but the man unfortunately was declared deceased on the scene,” he said.

Durban North SAPS are investigating the man’s death.
