House break-in suspect nabbed in Glen Anil

The suspect was handed over to Greenwood Park police.

A MAN has been arrested in connection with a house break-in on Cypress Drive in Glen Anil on Thursday afternoon. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, it was the vigilance of a local resident that led to the suspect being caught with the stolen property from the home.

“A resident noticed the suspect fleeing a property in Cypress Drive in Glen Anil and alerted a reaction officer who managed to stop and arrest the suspect. He was found in possession of property later confirmed to have been stolen from the home,” he said.

The suspect was handed over to Greenwood Park police.

The arrest comes on the back of several break-ins and home invasions in the north Durban area.

On Wednesday, an armed gang ransacked an uMhlanga home stealing a safe and other valuables. The suspects accosted two domestic workers, who were at home at the time of the robbery, and confined them to a bedroom.
