Three dead in horror N2 accident
The N2 (southbound) had to be closed as one of the patients was airlifted to safety.
THREE people have died and 12 others have been injured in a vehicle rollover on the N2 southbound near the eMdloti off-ramp on Tuesday afternoon. Ambulance services from IPSS, Netcare 911 and Crisis Medical transported the injured from the single vehicle accident.
“Three people sadly died, while 12 others were injured in the accident. One patient was in a critical condition and had to be airlifted to hospital. The N2 freeway had to be closed to allow the helicopter to land. At this stage the cause of the accident is unknown,” Shawn Herbst of Netcare 911 said.
According to other rescue personnel on scene, some of the occupants were flung from the bakkie in the accident.
It’s believed the victims of the horror accident are construction workers.
