One of the suspects was armed with a screwdriver in the incident.

DURBAN North police are looking for two suspects involved in the armed robbery of a St Andrews Drive home on Thursday. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 3.45am.

“The victim in his 60s noticed a presence near his bed and woke up to find two suspects in his room. One of the suspects was armed with a screwdriver. The suspect closest to his bed tried to hold the victim down and keep him quiet, however the resident managed to get free and grab a knobkierie.

“The suspects then ran out the house and jumped over the wall. They managed to get away with two laptops, a cell phone, a wallet with R500 in cash. We believe the suspects fled on foot. The victim was thankfully unharmed in the incident,” said Deokaran.
