Suspected stolen vehicle recovered in uMhlanga

The security company and SAPS swooped in, after receiving a tip off from a local neighbourhood watch group.

A VEHICLE believed to be stolen in an Umbilo hijacking was recovered on Ridge Road in uMhlanga on Friday, 21 June at about 6.50am.

Blue Security’s Durban North tactical ambassador Brendan Porter said the firm responded quickly to a tip off from a local neighbourhood watch group.

“A member of a local neighbourhood watch group shared information on one of our security social media groups that a suspected hijacked vehicle had been spotted in the neighbourhood. Three of our officers and the police swooped swiftly on the vehicle which was approached in Ridge Road. The vehicle and driver were taken to Durban North SAPS for further investigation,” Porter said.

Swift team work by police, Blue Security and neighbourhood watch groups led to the recovery.
