WATCH: These Durban musicians keep singing in lockdown

More than a thousand social media users shared the video.

AS the nation reaches the second week of lockdown, 22 Durban musicians put on a show for the cameras in a rendition of USA for Africa’s ‘We are The World,’ written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

Each musician recorded themselves, singing from home and the individual videos were combined to form a complete song with each musician singing a few lines at a time.

Band manager for 2Unique, Lennon Naidoo said they created a WhatsApp group with the musicians and shared instructions on how to film the videos.

“We want our fans and their loved ones to know that there is always hope, so long as we support each other. It’s in the little things – just sending someone a song can bring so much love and joy to their day. We can all support each other in these small, meaningful ways. We have to stay positive, stay safe and respect the lockdown rules and regulations. So hang in there people, we’ll all be together again soon,” he said.

The video was shared on the 2Unique Facebook page where more than 1 000 social media users reacted and shared the video.
