WATCH: President assesses damages at Springfield Park
The President interacted with provincial government and security forces during oversight visits in the City today.
PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa was greeted by a huge congregation of media and civilians in Springfield Park, uMgeni earlier today.
He visited Makro to assess the impact of the recent public violence, and the deployment of security forces.

Makro was one of the many Durban businesses severely damaged and looted during the protests this week.
As the President exited the premises, he offered fist bumps to bystanders who were in the area as part of clean-up campaigns.
He chanted “Amandla” while some bystanders shouted: “We love you uncle Cyril” and others, ” Thank you Mr President.”

“This is a once in a life time opportunity,” said one man.
“I’m not going to wash my hands ever again,” said another man after he fist-bumped the President.
This assessment was part of the President’s oversight visit of the City today.
