North Durban church offers free online trauma counselling following unrest
Deb Mun-Gavin, Grace counselling director and counselling psychologist, said people are experiencing unprecedented levels of grief, trauma and anxiety.
GRACE Counselling is offering a series of online counselling sessions to those who are struggling to cope with the trauma from last week’s unrest in the province.

Deb Mun-Gavin, Grace counselling director and counselling psychologist , who hosts the sessions said now more than ever, people are experiencing unprecedented levels of grief, trauma and anxiety.
“Our heart at Grace Family Church, through Grace Counselling, is to see God’s church serve a broken and hurting world.
“Many are taking strain because of the stress and grief arising from the pandemic, and because of the anxiety and trauma following the civil unrest. We need to be proactive in seeking healing and wholeness in our lives. There are tools that Grace Counselling can provide to help individuals find peace and joy during these tough times. Be courageous and seek support, if not for yourself, then for your family, ” said Mun-Gavin.
The sessions will be hosted daily from Monday, July 26 to Friday, July 30 at 10.00.
“We will be creating space for us to connect, pray and heal together as a community,” added Mun-Gavin.
