Stakeholders to discuss concerns following Cornubia chemical fire
The meeting is intended to provide all stakeholders with an equal opportunity to voice their concerns in terms of the environmental and health hazards following the fire.

REDDAM House Umhlanga will play host to a meeting this Saturday, September 4 for community members and organisations to share concerns over the UPL chemical fire in Cornubia.
The meeting is intended to provide all stakeholders with an equal opportunity to voice concerns and discuss how to best map a way forward in terms of the environmental and health hazards, said Bongani Mthembu of the UPL Cornubia Fire Civil Society Action Group.

“A formal agenda will be prepared, with designated community representatives invited to raise specific concerns. There will also be a dedicated timeslot for general community comment and questions. Due to Covid-19 and restrictions, the event will be held outside with a maximum of 100 people,” he said.

The meeting takes place on Saturday, September 4, from 11:00 to 12.30pm at Reddam House School in uMhlanga.
