Glenhills NPO plans to extend its ‘reach’ in 2022

The NPO is calling on corporates to assist in the various programmes that it offers.

THE Each One Reach 1 (EOR1) organisation held its ninth annual general meeting (AGM) recently and its members used this time to reflect on the past year and to make plans to assist those in need in the months ahead.

EOR1 is the CSI arm of a Glenhills family’s event planning business, the Govenders, Rodney, Eshia, Rea and Alea.

Speaking at the AGM, treasurer Deveshnee Mariah, said the overwhelming needs the non-governmental organisation (NGO) encountered this year, and the and the support received to meet them, showed that the EOR1 created an opportunity for others to give and share resources.

“The programmes we created have allowed the platform for our team of volunteers to learn, heal, grow and lead. Many of our volunteers, through service, have now been adopted into employed, paid service. In serving we benefit even more than we will ever realise,” she said. “Our mandate remains to break the cycles of abuse, poverty and addictions,” she added.

Some of the programmes the organisation runs are: Connecting Communities, Thinking Heart, EOR1 Family Support Line, Circle of Sisterhood/Brotherhood, Boots and Books and Love Kitchen, among others.

It takes a village to raise our children, said EOR1’s founder, Eshia Moodley-Govender.

“We thank every partner that journeyed with us through 2021. Even through the challenge of a world pandemic we were still privileged to continue our work within our communities. We urge those who are in a financial position to partner with us and share. We cannot deny what we see,” said Moodley-Govender.

“If you are in a position of sharing your time or resources, please commit to partnering with us in 2022,” she said.
