Make it a ‘tree-mendous’ Christmas with Round Table
Round Table member, Adrian Pretorius said the sale of Christmas trees has been run for more than 30 years

THE Umhlanga Round Table No. 155 encouraged residents to support this year’s Christmas tree sales.
Round Table member, Adrian Pretorius said the sale of Christmas trees has been run for more than 30 years.
“All funds raised go towards various projects that the Round Table champion. We’ve always had fantastic support from the Durban North and uMhlanga communities and I’m sure it will continue this year. This is for a good cause and, instead of buying a tree from elsewhere, where the profit goes to the sellers, why not support charity?” he said.

“On average, we sell about 1 500 Christmas trees in a three- to four-week period. This is our third year we’ve been situated at Crusaders and they have been wonderfully accommodating to us.”
Pretorius added that the trees range from 1.2m to 3m in height.
“The trees are Japanese cedars and range in price from R200 to R600. We are currently open everyday from 08:00 to 18:00 until December 22. However, last year we sold out three days before we closed, so I’d urge those wanting a Christmas tree to come as soon as possible,” he said.
The sales tent is situated at the entrance to the Crusaders Sports Club on 10 Ranleigh Crescent.
