Support avian friends with new Birdlife calendars
This year's theme profiles interesting bird behaviours and some of our most interesting and beautiful birds.
DURBAN North resident and the chairperson of Birdlife eThekwini KZN, Nicolette Forbes, has urged the community to purchase its 2022 calendar, which is now on sale.
As one of the largest and oldest bird clubs in South Africa, Birdlife eThekwini KZN has 500 members that includes bird watchers, conservationists and enthusiasts.
The club, an affiliate club of Birdlife South Africa, promotes the enjoyment, understanding, study and conservation of birds and the environment.

“These calendars make wonderful Christmas gifts and stocking fillers. It is a must-buy. This year’s theme profiles interesting bird behaviours and some of our most interesting and beautiful birds. The calendar also includes moon phases. For me, although Birdlife eThekwini KZN is a recreational club that facilitates bird watching walks, talks and other educational aspects of birds and their habitats, another important aspect is that we raise money for conservation. So, by purchasing these calendars, you are supporting conservation,” Forbes said.
She added the calendar also comes with a ‘Birding in our happy place’ sticker.
“Calendars cost R120 each. There’s also an option for hand-delivered copies in the great Durban area, but there is an additional cost of R30 per delivery. You can order your calendar via email at calendar@bekzn.org,” she said.
