Car headlight thefts continue warns Durban North SAPS

The latest theft occurred on Adelaide Tambo Drive in Durban North.

DURBAN North police have recorded yet another theft of a vehicle’s headlights in just two weeks.

According to Captain Raymond Deokaran, spokesperson for the Durban North SAPS, there has now been four cases of car part thefts reported across the policing precinct.

In the latest incident, a local resident who parked his car on Adelaide Tambo Drive was the latest victim.

“The resident had parked his vehicle on the road while he went on an early morning run. When he returned to his vehicle, at about 05:58 he discovered that two of his headlights had been removed. This now brings car part thefts to four cases overall in just two weeks.

“There seems to be a market for these parts. In two of the earlier cases in uMhlanga, the victims only realised their headlights were missing once they returned home. In another case, thieves stole a vehicle’s computer box. We suspect, in this case, a remote jamming device was used,” he said.
