Man dies after structural collapse in Durban North

SAPS will be investigating the incident further.

EMERGENCY personnel responded to a structural collapse in Monteith Place, Durban North where a man believed to be in his later forties died.

The man and his colleagues were building a section for a pool when a concrete slab fell on him.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson,  Garrith Jamieson,  said paramedics arrived on the scene just after 13:00 this afternoon (Saturday) together with SAPS and eThekweni Fire Department.

“They where escorted to the patient by his colleagues. The man had unfortunately sustained major injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for him,” said Jamieson.

SAPS will be investigating further.
