Support needed for Grace Family Church uMhlanga’s sorting day
Dimitra Nicolau of the church, said they will host a sorting day on Saturday, May 28, at its uMhlanga campus, and they are in need of volunteers and donations.
GRACE Family Church is urging north Durban residents to give back to a good cause by supporting this year’s Street Store.
The Street Store helps hundreds of homeless people to have a dignified shopping experience, and the church has partnered with the Denis Hurley Centre to host the event.
Speaking to Northglen News, Dimitra Nicolau of the church, said they will host a sorting day on Saturday, May 28, at its uMhlanga campus, and they are in need of volunteers and donations.
Nicolau said residents can get involved by taking a look through their cupboards and donating to the cause.

“We are calling for donations of clothing, shoes, and accessories for all ages, as well as non-battery-operated toys for kids. The donations can be dropped off at the Grace uMhlanga, Riverside, Cornubia or Ballito church campuses during the week between 08:00 and 15:30.
“There is also a large shipping container based at Grace uMhlanga, and the target is to fill it to the brim with the various items needed. We have not been able to host a Street Store for a while due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but we hope that, like before, we’ll have the support of the north Durban and wider community,” she said.
Nicolau said residents can sign up for the sorting day by visiting the church’s Facebook page.
“Join us on Saturday, May 28, at Grace uMhlanga from 08:00 to 12:00, to help sort all the donations into sizes and box them up, ready for the Street Store. All ages are welcome,” she said.
The Street Stores will be held on Saturday, June 4.
