“The fire is still ongoing. I haven’t heard of any injuries yet. The challenge was that there was no water in the fire hydrant. Tankers had to be sent from other fire departments,” said Maharajh.
He said several emergency personnel from various departments were at the scene and that he had made the eThekwini Disaster Management Department aware of the blaze.
Marshall Security’s spokeperson, Tyron Powell, confirmed that eThekwini Fire and additional resources were on scene.
“The fire is in progress, and the cause has not yet been established,” he said.
