The event formed part of Pick n Pay’s national initiative to promote small business growth, create jobs, and strengthen local economies by providing market access to emerging entrepreneurs.

According to Mark Bandi, Pick n Pay’s Head of Small Business Development, the market aims to “build sustainable partnerships with small suppliers who bring unique, high-quality products to customers”.
“Each year, we identify local businesses based on the uniqueness of their products, their quality, and competitive pricing,” said Bandi.
“It’s inspiring to see these entrepreneurs grow from small community operations to nationally recognised brands.”

From artisan foods to handmade crafts, the stalls offered customers a taste of KwaZulu-Natal’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Customers also enjoyed the opportunity to meet local producers face-to-face, sample products, and learn about the stories behind the brands.
