As part of a broader city brand transformation journey, eThekwini is updating its municipal logo with a fresh design that reflects the city’s evolving identity, unity, diversity and future aspirations, while resonating with residents and stakeholders alike.

The Municipality is calling on the creative community to submit original logo designs that capture the spirit of eThekwini’s unique culture, heritage and dynamism.

Whether you’re a professional graphic designer, student, illustrator or creative enthusiast, this is your chance to contribute to a piece of the city’s history and showcase your talent.

“We invite you to contribute and be part of eThekwini Municipality’s history as it refreshes its logo and ushers in a new era of identity and service delivery,” the city’s communications team said in a recent call-out to residents.

Other ways to be a part of the rebranding are through arts and crafts, story-telling, music and dances, food and drinks, fashion and decor, and design and digital.

How to enter

Visit the competition portal  for full details and submission guidelines. Entries must reflect the creative interpretation of what eThekwini means to you and how it should be represented visually in its official mark.

This initiative not only offers designers a platform to showcase their work, but also encourages community engagement in how the city presents itself to the world.
