Couple in critical condition following Glenashley shooting

It is alleged that the shooting may be related to a domestic incident.

TWO people are in critical condition following a shooting incident on Minerva Avenue in Glenashley on Saturday afternoon (March 21).

At approximately 15:00, Marshall Security and Durban North SAPS responded to reports of a shooting. Netcare911 paramedics were also immediately notified.

On arrival, responders found two patients with gunshot wounds. According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, both victims were in a critical condition and are currently being treated by Advanced Life Support paramedics from Netcare911.

“It is believed that the incident may be domestic-related; however, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation,” Powell said.

A firearm was recovered at the scene, which was subsequently cordoned off and secured for further investigation by police.
