SPAR Riverside and Tops celebrates its tenth birthday this month and is giving back to its community of shoppers in a big way.

Owners Tony and Jorge Farinha, who took over the store two years ago, have promotions, giveaways and competitions planned for shoppers.

The Farinhas have stood strong through the Covid-19 pandemic, the July unrest and the floods, always ensuring that serving the community remains their top priority.

Customers can look forward to winning their share of R10 000 in SPAR Riverside vouchers when they purchase participating products and shop to the value of R400.

“Then, all customers have to do is fill in their details at the back of their till slip and place them into the competition box. The birthday promotion starts on September 26 and ends on October 9,” said Tony.
The first three winners of R5 000 in vouchers will be chosen on October 1 at 13:00, at a celebration comprising a pie-eating competition, face-painting, a jumping castle and more.

The next three winners of R5 000 will be chosen on October 8.

The little ones can also win their share of vouchers by entering the colouring-in competition which is currently underway. Winners will also be chosen on October 1.

The Farinha family are no strangers to retail and have been part of the SPAR group for close to 20 years.

Customers get to experience the Farinha flair at the store’s deli and bakery as some of the family recipes are used to create masterpieces such as the custard tarts and flame-grilled chicken.

“We thank our customers for their support and for remaining loyal to our store through the years. We remain involved in assisting the community just as we have through the Covid-19 pandemic, July unrest and floods,” he said.

Other great services on offer are the Beantree Café, which serves up great coffee and pancakes daily; delicious platters to cater for your private and corporate events, and an extensive range of alcoholic beverages from Tops at Riverside SPAR, who are even able to source special wines should you be looking for something specific.

Pensioners can look forward to a 5% discount on regular-priced items every Tuesday and Thursday until 16:00. Market Day specials run every Wednesday and Thursday where customers can purchase products at great prices.
