Two arrested after theft at uMdloti home

The suspects were found in possession of several stolen items.

TWO suspects were arrested in connection with a theft incident on Newsel Road in uMdloti on Friday last week by members of Marshall Security.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, the incident occurred at about 05:30.

“A group of holidaymakers discovered that the accommodation where they had been staying at had been broken into. Multiple items, including cellphones, laptops, watches and other household items, had been stolen.”

“Through our Special Operations Team investigation, information lead them to consider the Verulam area as the possible whereabouts of the wanted suspects. After a successful operation, two suspects were apprehended with most of the stolen items that had been taken in the house burglary found in their possession, and the items were successfully recovered. The suspects were handed over to the Durban North SAPS,” he said.

He added the suspects could possibly be linked to the previous house burglary cases in uMdloti, including a house burglary that had also occurred on Newsel Road a few days earlier.
