Suspect arrested for theft from Avoca home

The stolen metal frame was recovered in the arrest of one of the suspects.

A SUSPECT was arrested for theft of a metal frame stolen from an Avoca home on Friday afternoon.

According to Sanveer Sooklall, spokesperson for Swift Private Security, the incident unfolded on Victor Road.

“We received an alert of a theft in Avoca through a WhatsApp security group. According to a resident, two individuals took a metal frame from their property and were last observed heading up Victor Road. Swift Private Security, along with the resident, conducted a thorough search of the vicinity to locate the suspects.

“Fortunately, the resident successfully identified and apprehended one of the suspects, while the second suspect managed to escape. The stolen item was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. The captured suspect is known in the Effingham Heights area,” he said.
