Two arrested in Sea Cow Lake for tampering with municipal infrastructure

With the assistance of Marshall Security, Greenwood Park SAPS makes three arrests – two suspects caused damage to state infrastructure and one was arrested for a theft in June.

TWO suspects were arrested on Sea Cow Lake Road on Wednesday evening after tampering with an eThekwini Municipality electricity box.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, reaction officers responded to the scene at about 18:30 after receiving a call from members of the community.

“Members of our Special Operations Team were dispatched and arrived on the scene, and apprehended two suspects who were caught tampering with an electricity box and attempting to connect illegal wire connections. They were found in possession of various implements. The Greenwood Park SAPS were immediately notified and arrived on the scene to assist,” he said.

Powell added that the suspects face charges of tampering with and damaging state infrastructure.

Marshall Security extends its gratitude to the community members who reported the suspicious activity.

In a separate incident, a suspect wanted in connection with a theft incident in Springfield Park was also arrested on Wednesday evening.

“The suspect was implicated in a theft case that occurred in June on Peter Road. The suspect, who was known to the employer, had been actively sought by the Greenwood Park SAPS since the incident,” he said.
