POLICE are investigating a case of business robbery after a watch store in La Lucia Mall was robbed on Friday afternoon.
It is believed at least five suspects, armed with handguns, stormed the store, held up staff and made off with an undisclosed amount of items.
It is believed the suspects then escaped in two getaway vehicles.

Durban North SAPS spokesperson Nonhlanhla Shozi confirmed a case had been opened at the station but could not disclose further details.
In a statement La Lucia Mall Centre Management confirmed the incident.
“We can confirm that no one was injured and no shots were fired when a jewellery store was robbed on Friday, 14 July 2023. The SAPS are currently investigating, and we are giving them our full support. La Lucia Mall has extensive security measures and collaborates closely with law enforcement, tenants and the local community for ongoing crime prevention. We would like to assure our customers that their safety remains our top priority.”
In May and June this year armed gangs robbed jewellery stores at the The Pavilion shopping mall and Chatsworth Centre.
