IT’S not only human beings who want to be surrounded by loved ones, especially around Christmas time, but dogs and cats, too.

Phoenix Animal Care & Treatment (PACT) has its second Christmas Extravaganza planned, not only to raise funds for the organisation but to hopefully home some of the cats and dogs under their care.

The event takes place at the Lion’s Club on Uitsig Road, Durban North, on Saturday, December 15, from 09.00 to 17.00.

Founder of PACT Neeri Naidoo said the event is open to the public to support in any way they can.

“This is the second annual fair we’re hosting to raise funds for PACT and to also unite our beautiful cats and dogs with families as they all deserve a forever home,” she said.

The Christmas Extravaganza promised to be fun for the whole family as there are lots of activities planned, from a flea market to arts and crafts and face painting. Santa will also make an appearance, and there will be cupcake decorating.

“There’s a range of activities for the little ones, however, nothing is stopping adults from embracing their inner child and having a bit of fun, too,” she said.

Naidoo added that there are still a few items that are needed in order to pull the event off, such as a marquee, a jumping castle, a generator and gingerbread house kits.
