Stolen motorbike recovered on Sea Cow Lake Road

The suspects escaped on foot after they spotted the security officer.

OFFICERS from Blue Security helped recover a suspected stolen motorbike in Springfield Park on Thursday (December 14).

This comes after they were alerted to the incident by a concerned member of the community.

“While on patrol, one of our officers was alerted by a community member about two individuals pushing a motorbike. Responding to the tip, the officer headed to Sea Cow Lake Road and located the individuals with the bike,” the company said in a statement.

“Upon seeing the officer, they immediately left the bike and ran away. The local SAPS was contacted to follow up. This recovery is a testament to the effectiveness of community cooperation with our security patrols, helping maintain the area’s safety and security.”

In a separate incident on the same day, a stolen vehicle was also recovered.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen on Everest Road.

“Our team was informed by a distressed community member about a recently stolen vehicle. Responding to this report, our officers conducted a search in the nearby area and successfully located the vehicle. The vehicle appeared to have been abandoned mid-theft, with signs of tampering.

“With its ignition still on, the vehicle was found without any suspects in the vicinity. The owner was present, and the incident was handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS,” the company said.
