Six in court for Durban North art dealer’s murder

The victim's brother, Brian, said that Alan had been living with a few friends whom he was 'helping out'.

THE alleged murderers of Durban North art dealer, Alan Gordon (57), were arrested and are expected to make their second appearance in court this Friday.

Gordon went missing from his Umgeni Park home on March 8, and his body was found burnt and dumped in Ndwedwe on March 10.

Greenwood Park SAPS investigated the murder docket after the case was transferred from Ndwedwe Police Station.

KZN Provincial spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said six people between the ages of 18 and 27 were arrested.

They appeared before the Durban Magistrate’s Court on March 15.

“The victim was allegedly assaulted with a bush knife and then burnt. His body was discovered on the side of the road in the Dikwayo area in Ndwedwe,” she said.

It is further alleged that Alan was attacked in his flat and his body dumped in Ndwedwe.

When the Northglen News spoke to the victim’s brother, Brian, after his disappearance, he said Alan had been living with a few friends whom he was ‘helping out’.

The motive for the murder is still unknown. They will make their next appearance on April 12.
