Durban North CPF warns local businesses of ‘delivery driver’ robber

The suspect wears a black helmet and drives a white motorbike.

THE Durban North CPF, as well as the Durban North SAPS, have appealed to businesses in the area to be extra vigilant regarding patrons entering their stores without removing their bike helmets.

This comes after three robberies have been recorded by the station, two of which occurred in the uMhlanga Ridge precinct.

Darryl Oliver, public relations officer for the CPF, said that the suspect linked to the cases has been caught on CCTV camera riding a white motorbike with a black helmet.

“The suspect enters the business dressed like a delivery biker and pretends to shop while keeping his helmet on. At the till, he produces a weapon and demands the contents of the till and then flees. He has been spotted on a white motorbike with a white delivery box and no number plate,” he said.

Oliver urged members of the public not to engage with anybody matching the description and rather to call the authorities.

“We appeal to anyone with information to contact the CPF on 063 643 7803 or the Durban North SAPS on 079 696 3615.
