Woman murdered in Glen Anil home

The victim, a 45-year-old woman, was found with several wounds to her head.

GREENWOOD Park Police are investigating a case of murder after finding the body of a 45-year-old woman in her Glen Anil home on Sunday (September 1).

Provincial SAPS spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the motive behind the murder on Poinsettia Road is unknown.

While no arrests have yet been made, it is believed the woman was allegedly stabbed in the incident.

“Police in Greenwood Park are investigating a case of murder following an incident in which a 45-year-old woman was allegedly killed by an unknown suspect on Poinsettia Road in Glen Anil. The victim was found lying on the floor at her place of residence with injuries to the head. The motive is unknown,” he said.

Deputy chairperson of the Glen An-Hills Neighbourhood Watch, Avi Pillay, said the watch was aware of the tragic incident.

“We offer our condolences to the family of the deceased. In light of this tragedy, we are appealing to residents to be extremely vigilant, especially when it comes to noises or disturbances on their property. We also encourage them to report any suspicious activity to the Glen An-Hills Neighbourhood Watch Crime Info Group on WhatsApp,” he said.
