Dolphins slump to third defeat in CSA T20 Challenge
The Lions, who won by 9 runs, won the toss and elected to bat first in the match at the DP World Wanderers Stadium.
IT has not been a great start to the Hollywoodbets Dolphins CSA T20 Challenge campaign as the Durban team lost their third successive match, this time against the DP World Lions on Sunday.
The Lions, who won by 9 runs, won the toss and elected to bat first in the match at the DP World Wanderers Stadium.
The Dolphins did a great job of restricting the Lions to 156 for 5 in their 20 overs with Joshua Richards their top scorer with 38 (32).
Dolphins bowler Andile Simelane continued his wicket, taking form with 2/36 from his 4 overs.
In reply, the Dolphins lost early wickets and soon gained 81 for 6 in 13 overs.
Marques Ackerman top-scored for the visitors with a well-played 32.
A valiant knock from captain Prenelan Subrayen nearly got the Dolphins over the line, however, it was not to be as the Lions won their second game of the T20 Challenge campaign.
The Dolphins now return home for their next match on Wednesday when they face the North West Dragons at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium.
