They’ve partnered with Durban Botanical Garden Trail of Lights this holiday season to bring you Rhino Village.
Speaking about the new addition to the event, Carlien Roodt of Project Rhino said the organisation is honored to take over the entire African Village at this year’s event.
“The village features a stunning display of 14 life-size rhinos from our KZN Schools Future Rhino Campaign. Each rhino has been beautifully decorated by local school children and will be spectacularly lit up along the Trail of Lights,” said Roodt.
The main feature of the trail, a massive lit-up rhino, will be a breathtaking sight to behold.
“We are proud to be part of this incredible event and grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness about the plight of rhinos in our province and country. Join us at the Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights and experience the magic of our rhino display. We look forward to sharing this unforgettable experience with you,” she added.
Alene Naidoo, organiser of the Durban Botanical Garden Trail of Lights, said the aim of the village is to showcase Africa’s vibrant artistry, craftsmanship, and storytelling traditions.
“We also want to create an immersive experience that educates visitors about conservation efforts and the significance of preserving African wildlife and ecosystems,” she added.
