Durban’s Super Giants lose third game in a row
The loss sees DSG rooted to the foot of the table at the halfway point of the tournament.

DESPITE heroics with the bat from Kane Williamson (44) and Naveen Ul Haq (30), Durban’s Super Giants slumped to another defeat at the hands of the Sunrisers Eastern Cape by six wickets in the Betway SA20 on Sunday (January 19) at St George’s Park.
The loss was the second consecutive loss to the defending champions and a third loss of the tournament which sees DSG rooted to the foot of the table at the halfway point of the tournament.
This time, Keshav Maharaj decided to bat first after winning the toss in the Friendly City.
That decision proved to be disastrous as the Durban team only scored 115/8 in their 20 overs.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) attack of Marco Jansen, Richard Gleeson, Ottneil Baartman and Liam Dawson accounted for the DSG wickets with each taking two a piece.
In reply, SEC never looked in trouble as contributions from David Bedingham (39), Jordan Hermann (23) and Aiden Markram (31) helped the home team reach the target in the 16th over.
Durban’s Super Giants will be back at Kingsmead when they face MI Cape Town on Tuesday.
Scoreboard summary
Durban’s Super Giants 115/8 (20 overs)
Sunrisers Eastern Cape 117/4 (15.2 overs)
SEC won by eight wickets
