Warriors sink Dolphins in Durban

The Dafabet Warriors beat the Dolphins by 126 runs in their opening game.

A BRILLIANT 148 not out from Jordan Hermann and 4/23 from Andile Mogokane subjected the Hollywoodbets Dolphins to a 126 run One Day Cup defeat against the Dafabet Warriors at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead on Sunday.

It was the Dolphins’ first loss of the One Day Cup campaign.

The visiting side from Gqeberha were able to dictate the match for the most part having notched up a score of well over 300 after winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Five of the Dolphins bowlers went for more than 50 runs in the first innings of the game.

In reply the Dolphins were never in the game and opener Jon-Jon Smuts top scored with 58.

Smuts went to a fluent fifty in the 17th over of the chase off just 36 balls with five fours and three sixes.

However his dismissal brought about the end of any resistance as the Dolphins failed to keep up with the run rate.

The Dolphins were eventually bowled out for 217 to hand the Warriors a 126 run victory.

Scoreboard summary

Toss: Warriors
Dafabet Warriors 343/2 (50 over)
Hollywoodbets Dolphins 217/10 (40.2 overs)
Warriors won by 126 runs
