While conducting routine patrols on Chris Hani Road in the vicinity of Briardene on Monday afternoon, Marshall Security officers approached the man, stopped him and questioned him about the sack he was carrying.
“Upon stopping and questioning the individual, the officer requested to inspect the contents of the sack. Inside, officers discovered a large industrial cutting machine in good condition. Given the value of the item and the inconsistency in the suspect’s story, he was immediately apprehended,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.
It remains unclear as to where the items had been stolen from.
“We urge any members of the public and business owners that should you have fallen victim to any theft incidents to report the matter to Greenwood Park SAPS soonest,” he added.
