Nisbet explained that the win was a boost for the upcoming competition.
“I didn’t race the Berg last year and it was one of my biggest regrets. I really think it sets me up well for the rest of the year and gave me a good base. I was very thankful for how the race panned out. I feel it definitely paid off in the long run and acted as a really good boost ahead of the world champs,” she said.
Nisbet now turns her attentions to the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships in Gyor, Hungary.
Following that the educator at Virginia Preparatory School will also be competing in the ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championships set for Durban in October.
