UMHLANGA is the place to be this festive season as the countdown to a busy tourism period gets closer.

Naomi Crous, the new chairperson of Umhlanga Tourism, said she hopes this December will strengthen the position of the coastal destination as a premier attraction, both locally and internationally.

She outlined some events planned for December which include the Umhlanga Summer Festival and the Carols by Candlelight evening.

“We are expecting a vibrant festive season, with uMhlanga and the surrounding areas welcoming many happy visitors. Our greatest hope is that everyone, tourists and locals alike, enjoys a joyful, relaxing holiday while staying safe and healthy. uMhlanga continues to be a sought-after holiday destination, offering warm hospitality, world-class restaurants, clean and safe beaches, and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for families, couples, and adventure seekers to enjoy the festive season,” she said.

Crous added that Umhlanga Tourism is looking forward to welcoming visitors and locals to a family-friendly and unforgettable holiday experience.

There are two swimming beaches in uMhlanga, Bronze and Main Beach, both of which remain open.

Plans for festive programme

• December 12: Umhlanga Tourism will partner with the South African National Blood Service to host a community Blood Drive opposite The Pearls Mall, next to the Beverly Hills Hotel.
• December 20: Umhlanga Tourism is partnering with The Pearls Mall for their special Carols by Candlelight evening, a festive favourite for families.
• December 18 to 22: The Umhlanga Summer Festival will take place, featuring a full programme of beachfront activities and family-friendly entertainment.
