Reddam learner chosen for SA U19 tour of Pakistan
Nobubelebesisa Zwane, a Grade Eight learner, is in the squad for its maiden youth T20 International (T20I) tour to Pakistan.
REDDAM House Umhlanga Grade Eight learner Nobubelebesisa ‘Nobe’ Zwane has been named in the SA U19 women’s squad for its maiden youth T20 International (T20I) tour to Pakistan.
It’s a remarkable achievement for a player competing alongside athletes several years older than herself.
Representing KZN Coastal, the 14-year-old earned her place in a national high-performance environment while still only in Grade Eight.

The trip to the sub-continent is a valuable opportunity for the team to prepare for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in Bangladesh and Nepal in January next year.
“I was very proud to represent my country. Playing at provincial level was a big step for me to adapt mentally because I still had the mindset of an U13 player, but now I need to have a South African U19 mindset,” she said.
“It taught me to learn quickly and effectively and changed how I view the game at a more professional level. I’m looking forward to learning a lot, making lots of memories and just enjoying it because that’s how I will do it better,” she said.
The T20 International matches will be played on July 14, 17, 19, 22 and 24 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
